Bun v1.3.7: Cannot find module './duplex' from readable-stream (pipeline.js)

Hello Bun community,

Please help with the issue i am facing and I did ask AI and it says to use node runtime but I want bun runtime.

issue:

I ran "bun dev"

bun dev                
$ bun run src/server.ts
error: Cannot find module './duplex' from 'proj/node_modules/readable-stream/lib/internal/streams/pipeline.js'

Bun v1.3.7 (Linux x64)
error: script "dev" exited with code 1

and i ran "bun why readable-stream"

bun why readable-stream
[0.03ms] ".env"
readable-stream@4.7.0
  └─ bl@6.1.6 (requires ^4.2.0)
     └─ tedious@19.2.0 (requires ^6.1.4)
        ├─ mssql@12.2.0 (requires ^19.0.0)

How to solve this? I am unable to run "dun dev" as this is causing trouble so could someone please help.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 fixed it but ChatGPT just told me to switch to npm.

Bun's first install had incomplete/corrupted node_modules. The readable-stream package was missing _stream_duplex.js.

What fixed it:

1. Cleared ~/.bun/install/global/node_modules and reinstalled.
2. Fresh install got all files correctly.
