I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
The feature
Hi All;
This is probably a difficult and waaaaaaaay down the list feature; but a mechanism to allow to separate Immich servers (mine and my friend's) to once-only; read/access the shared link of the other instance - to copy over any photos not in the local album.
Use case; me and my mate have family get together, swimming at a lake etc. We all take photos on our phones. Go home, we sync with our own local Immich server. Later, we send a share link to each other, and each Immich instance copies over photos that aren't on the local Immich album. This allows both families / Immich's to have all photos taken that day, allows face tagging locally etc.
Currently we do this manually, and whoever gets in first has it easy, no duplicates. The second person has to sort manually so we don't re-upload the same photos to our own immich.
I would imagine the mechanism would read all album assets, use data like file name, size, possibly duplicate checking, and download everything that is new (not in the local album), once downloaded, added to Immich and the local album.
Thoughts or pipe dream?
